1. Strengthener and Time Saver (grinding aids for ceramics)
As Grinding Acids in Ceramic, SMP has effects of flocculation and depolymerization, effectively shortening the time of grinding
and developing the strength of ceramic tiles’ body at the same time.
That is because “When adding into a model, it is easy to react to flocculate quickly and harden fastly”.
2. Fluidity Improver
The reason why SMP plays a role as a dilution in Ceramic is that it increase charge density of micelles’suface in slury,
which results in increasing the electrical double layer and ξ potential(zeta potential), thus the repulsive force between particles
increase.Meanwhile, the root of silicate anions sodium metasilicate react with Ca2+, Mg2+ in mud to generate insolubles,
which urge Na+ to be exchanged and shrink viscosity of the slurry, on the other hand improve fluidity. In this way Sodium
Metasilicate Pentahydrate is quite suitable for ceramic grout as an additive.
3. Water Reducer
Used as water reducing agents in Ceramic, SMP is able to integrate more hydrones to make better moisture absorption effect.
